A little information about Marginal Heroes
Why Marginal Heroes?
You've got a level 80 toon on a PVE server and life couldn't be better. You've joined a guild, seen some raid time and now have the gear to stand on the bank steps in Dalaran, for all around to exalt and admire. You've been a good soldier in your guild, always prepared and focused. You have foregone sleep on many a night helping 24 of your closest virtual friends master anything Blizzard can dream up. Your Raid Leader has pushed your crack team of agents and assassins to the brink of server-wide adoration and applause. 3-Drake OS? Child's play. 25-Man Naxx? In two hours, with bio breaks to spare. 25-man Ulduar? Cleared the first week, with your Alts, all in greys. You know how to play every class and you are more than willing to deal out "helpful" suggestions. You are Super. You are Goober. You Pwn.
Thanks. We'll have our people call your people.
You've got a level 80 toon on a PVE server and life couldn't be better. You've joined a guild, seen some raid time and now have the gear to help your raid team face the next challenge. You are a good teammate, focused on helping and encouraging all around you. You like to win loot, but will happily pass to those who need it more if it means for a better group performance. You prefer a Raid Leader who can communicate without yelling, calling people out or being an absolute dipstick. You enjoy human interaction more than NPC interaction. Laughter makes you feel good, and making others laugh is purely euphoric for you. You know how to play your class well enough to contribute, but never feel compelled to tell others how to play. You are willing to offer kindness and respect to those you call your guildmates. Words like Super, Goober and Pwn are not in your vocabulary. For whatever reason, you are looking for a new guild.
Have we got the place for you!
Here at Marginal Heroes, you will find a guild that is built slightly differently then most you have encountered. While other guilds feature progression first, where players are numbers (DPS, HPS, TPS) and are commonly referred to by their role instead of their name, MH goes out of it's way to be the exact opposite. MH is a guild that is built on community, friendship, respect and loyalty. The reason we play the game is not necessarily to beat the next big boss, but to enjoy the social fabric that is created when like-minded people get together in a friendly environment where trust is offered before it is earned. This guild is focused on inclusion and progression simultaneously, with a very deep commitment that all guildies are treated fairly and equally.
Like almost all other guilds out there these days, MH is a raiding guild, with our sights set on clearing whatever Blizzard throws our way. While other guilds raid 3 - 4 times a week, for 3 - 4 hours at at time, MH takes a different approach. We raid 3 nights a week (Tues / Thurs / Sun) for a total of 8 hours per week. We maximize our seemingly short raid schedule by being prepared, understanding our responsibilities and moving quickly through the content. Our efficiency while raiding enables us to spend less time in front of our computers and more time with our life external to Azeroth. When it works, it's brilliant. I would caution that we don't always have our pace completely at the level I just described, but we do manage it most of the time!
Our guild is made up of 40 - 50 accounts, primarily owned and operated by adults. Inside MH you will find fathers raiding alongside their daughters, married couples healing and DPSing side-by-side and real life best-friends sharing a laugh about misdirects gone awry. The average age of the players in MH is 34. Most of our players reside on the West Coast, but don't be surprised to hear that there are more than a few players staying up until 3:00am EST to get one last pull in for the night. Here in MH, you will find mature players, capable of being serious when it counts but not so stuffy as to not recognize the comedic genius that is a poop joke! Balance is the key!
MH was founded in 2005 and continues to be run and maintained by the same people who originally bought the charter and designed the tabard. Raid leadership is friendly, helpful and honest, and will go out of their way to help our players. One only needs to hear about our Lottery system to recognize that this is not your typical guild.
So, if any of that sounds interesting to you, let us know! Either fill-out an application, post your questions on our forums, or if you are on Draenor, send me a tell in-game!
That's why Marginal Heroes.
- Glick
